We benchmark operations to identify opportunities for improvement, which we realise in performance improvement programmes.
We benchmark our clients’ supply chain operations to allow them to compare their performance to their competitors and to highlight areas for improvement.
We use a variety of data to generate performance benchmarks, including previous projects (whilst maintaining client confidentiality), industry surveys and annual reports.
We combine this review of external benchmarks with synthetic benchmarking, using models from our Insight suite. This method breaks each activity into its component parts and uses modelling techniques to estimate the performance standards that can be achieved for each one. The performance can then be calculated for the overall activity and compared to actual results, allowing gaps to be identified.
Benchmarking is just the first step in performance improvement. We work closely with clients, identifying actions to close the gaps between current performance and best practice benchmarks, to develop world-class operations.
